Kanarraville planning panel forwards Sharrette home addition to town council

At its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting, the Kanarraville Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed a proposed 28-by-28-foot addition to the home of Larry and Julie Sharrette and moved to forward the application to the Kanarraville Town Council for final review.

The application, presented on behalf of the Sharrettes by "mister Schwab," shows a covered patio area being converted into a 28-by-28-foot sitting and entertaining space. "They just wanna have a sitting area," Speaker 4 said while pointing to the shaded area on the plans. Design details noted during the review included that the addition would be single-story and the exterior materials would "match existing" to comply with local guidelines.

After discussion, Speaker 2 moved to send the Sharrette application on to the town council "next Thursday," and Speaker 1 seconded. The motion was seconded and the discussion then turned to logistics; the transcript does not record a roll-call or formal tally on that referral.
