The Hamilton County School Board approved new job classifications and the consent agenda and received a draft enrollment-capacity report intended to improve the board's visibility on school capacity.
Speaker 21 moved to approve the new job descriptions and Speaker 9 seconded; the board approved the measure by roll call. Dr. Robertson described the enrollment-capacity report as "a rough draft" and said the administration presented the format to solicit feedback. "The thought behind it from our perspective was put it in a format and actually do it, as we're doing your enrollment reports and just making it at every month thing," Robertson said.
Members suggested refining the report to organize information by district rather than alphabetical order so board members can more easily find their areas. Speaker 5 thanked Dr. Robertson and noted the report revealed 14 "tier 1" schools; the draft will be revised and returned for further discussion.
Announcements included a March 2 community forum at the Harrison Center for Districts 9 and 10, a March 5 policy and finance meeting, a March 12 quarterly meeting (4:30 work session and 6 p.m. regular meeting), March 13 half day for students and March 23 professional development day. The chair declared the meeting adjourned at the end of the session.
