The Village of Greendale board approved awarding the 2026 Road and Infrastructure Program contract—including base bid and alternates A, B and C—to Always Contractor Incorporated.
Staff said the work includes full pavement replacement and utility improvements on Southway (Broad Street to Highway 36) and West Ramsey Avenue, a prefabricated restroom near the gazebo, various sidewalk and ADA improvements and a resurfacing of the Brinkman Field parking lot (Alternate A). The village noted coordination with the school district was completed to minimize impacts on bus routes.
Staff described phasing and closures: Southway will have a full closure for pulverizing and grading from June 15 to July 3; West Ramsey will be closed in phases (phase 1 from July 7 to no later than Aug. 28) and the remainder of work is expected roughly from mid/late August to mid‑November. Staff said the schedule allows the work to be completed in three phases to limit detours and avoid conflicts with school and the Fourth of July weekend.
After questions were answered, the board held a roll-call vote and approved the award. The public‑works timeline and specific closure dates in the staff presentation were set to appear in village communications to keep residents informed.
