Lockport recognizes state champions, gives prom-dress giveaway and reminds seniors about scholarships

The Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education recognized several student achievements at its March 17, 2025 meeting, the student board member's recap said.
The board acknowledged Olivia Matasek, who competed in the Cherry Bowl state finals and placed third All-State; Justin Wardlow, who placed second at the IHSA state competition; and Claudia Heaney, who placed first at the IHSA state competition and was described as a two-time state champion and three-time state finalist. The board also recognized All-State musicians in choir and band.
The LTHS Foundation provided more than 60 prom dresses free of charge at a prom event, and the Foundation and district hope to make the giveaway annual, Bridal said. Bridal also reminded seniors that scholarship applications are open and due April 4 and directed students to the LTHS Foundation webpage to apply.
