Sugar Grove board approves bid and construction engineering contract for IL‑47 and Park intersection

The Village of Sugar Grove board on Feb. 17 authorized staff to award the contract for improvements at the IL‑47 and Park intersection after receiving six bids. Brad Mann told trustees the lowest apparent bidder came in about 46% below the engineer's estimate and asked the board to approve awarding the work.
Mann said IDOT had approved the engineering plans and that that limited the scope of design changes possible. Trustees agreed staff would post construction notices to the village's social channels when a start date is known.
The board then approved a professional services agreement with HR Green for construction observation and engineering support during installation. Trustees approved the bid award and the HR Green PSA by roll call.
Outcome and next steps: Staff will finalize the contract award, notify the selected contractor, coordinate start dates with IDOT and post public notices so residents know when construction will begin.
