Staff member Grady said UTC's class will provide trail planning assistance "at no cost to the city," and that the students' work will produce conceptual designs the city can retain for future grant-readiness. "UGC's trails building and management course under faculty supervision will work with the city during the 2026 semester to assist with conceptual trail planning, on-site trail flagging, and GPS based mapping of potential alignments in trail setting at no cost to the city," Grady said (as read in the transcript). The city emphasized that adopting student work does not obligate the city to build those alignments but would help the city be grant-ready when funding becomes available.
