Students highlight sports successes; board approves Morgan’s Message student account

A student representative reported that the boys basketball team finished the league season 14–0, 17–5 overall, and entered the District 2 5A playoffs as the No. 1 seed; the girls' team, wrestling, swimming/diving, indoor track and Unified Bocce also had reported accomplishments and upcoming district‑and‑state dates.
Administration yielded the floor to Dr. Koss to announce a community screening of the documentary Screenagers in partnership with the Waverly Community House at 6 p.m. the following evening; local businesses donated snacks and students in grades 4–12 were invited to attend with parents.
The board approved establishing a student activity account for Morgan's Message, a peer‑led mental‑health program founded in memory of Morgan Rogers. An advisor described Morgan's Message as a national nonprofit that trains student campus ambassadors to lead conversations about mental health. The advisor said more than 50 students attended recent meetings and six staff members volunteered as advisors; the program plans a mental‑health dedication lacrosse game on April 21.
The board approved the Morgan's Message account by roll call vote at the meeting.
