District proposes a director of human resources role as current assistant director plans retirement

Administration presented item 8.11 recommending a structural change in the human-resources department: eliminate the assistant-director role and create a director-of-human-resources position to enhance capacity and redistribute responsibilities across administrative staff. The administration said the change was prompted in part by the planned retirement of the current assistant director and that any changes would take effect July 1 after that retirement.

Administrators told the board they expect minimal net budgetary impact compared with other staffing changes under consideration for the next school year and said the new position would help support people-centered work across departments.
