Price Council reviews Highway 10 sign installation, wayfinding RFP and potential UDOT street-light partnership

Nearby road work prompted a separate advisory: Speaker 5 warned that a chip-seal project on Highway 10 between Farren and Castledale spans 'all 10 miles' and is being done one lane at a time, urging motorists to take care and watch for loose rocks.
On wayfinding, the council reported meeting with Dave Gerard and issuing an RFP; responses are not yet in, and staff were asked to preserve specific locations (for example the first North Curve on South Highway 825) when evaluating bids. Council also discussed timing for bid review and the possibility of presenting shortlisted options at the upcoming workshop meeting.
Speaker 8 summarized a separate meeting with the Utah Department of Transportation about replacing street lights on 1st North to match fixtures on 3rd East. UDOT representatives indicated they could contribute roughly 50 percent of the project cost, and the council discussed assembling an inventory, easement questions and whether the street crew could contribute in-kind labor to lower the city’s cash outlay.
Council members said they will route proposed light layouts to Dan for cost analysis and to confirm whether easements or additional approvals are needed. No formal motions or votes were recorded on the projects during the meeting.
The next step for wayfinding is completion of the RFP response period, followed by a workshop presentation; staff will return with cost estimates and a proposed layout for the street-light work.
