Councilors and staff used part of the workshop to commend the police department and hazmat team after a major drug seizure.
"It's probably one of the biggest in Price City's history with enough fentanyl that could kill this whole town," a speaker said, praising officers who worked at 3 a.m. to collect evidence. Councilors discussed whether to offer public recognition beyond internal log entries; one councilor said the city could work toward more public acknowledgement of exceptional operations.
No formal award or proclamation was issued at the workshop, but staff said they can explore ways to inform the public about the department’s work.
