Council says $250,000 set aside for pickleball courts; demolition and cement costs remain uncertain

"We have $250,000 to to put towards the project," a council member said during the workshop, adding that community donations have helped advance the work. Officials said crews will perform much of the demolition and construction work to limit contractor costs.
A public question asked what additional demolition or site‑preparation costs the city would incur beyond the $250,000. Staff estimated demolition and related work could add roughly $20,000–$25,000 to the project. They also cited concrete at about $260 per cubic yard as a major line‑item in cost estimates.
Council members said they will review the demolition plan at the next meeting with the goal of preserving existing concrete where feasible to save money. No formal approval was taken at the workshop.
