Radnor Township SD board approves hires for assistant to superintendent and technology director

The Radnor Township School District board unanimously approved offers of employment for two new administrators at a special meeting Tuesday.
The board voted 9–0 to approve the recommended hires: Dr. Sharon Schaeffer as assistant to the superintendent for teaching and learning and Brett Snell as assistant director of infrastructure technology. The motion to approve was moved by Miss Stern and seconded by Miss Solomon.
Dr. Sharon Schaeffer thanked the board and community for a "very thorough" hiring process and described her priorities for the role. "My top priority will be your students, your staff, your community, all of you," she said, and confirmed she will begin on March 2, 2026.
Board members noted the recruitment involved multiple interview rounds and participation from community members, district administrators and teachers. As one board member put it, "It's been a, a very involved process. We had many rounds of interviews. We had so many members of our community and administrative team and teachers, that were part of this process." (Speaker identified in the transcript as Speaker 3.)
Brett Snell thanked the board after his approval and said he was "very excited to work with everybody, and bring the best technology skills that I can to the table and, make the students, the teachers, the administration, all of everybody a priority in providing the best technology, we can." The board indicated Snell's exact start date remains to be determined.
The meeting also included brief procedural announcements. The board scheduled a 5 p.m. curriculum meeting on Jan. 20, followed at 7 p.m. by a second public hearing on the Valley Forge Service Academy Charter School; the notice initially listed Radnor Middle School auditorium as the venue, but the board announced the hearing will be held in the Garden Suite at the Radnor Township Municipal Building. The board's next regular business meeting is set for Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Radnor Township Municipal Building.
The special meeting opened with a report that the board had met in executive session earlier that evening to discuss two potential legal matters, and no public comments were offered during the meeting. The session adjourned following the announcements.
