The Klamath Falls City Council adopted an ordinance on Feb. 2 to amend city code sections to adopt the 2024 edition of the International Property Maintenance Code. The city attorney noted scrivener's errors in the previously published changes and explained corrections to ensure the code text reads properly. "It doesn't change any of the real substance to anything. It still helps us adopt the updated version and it just makes it read much more cleanly this way," the city attorney said.
Councilors moved and seconded to pass the ordinance for second and final reading by title only with the attorney's amendments; the ordinance was read by title and adopted by roll call. The amendments were described in the meeting as clerical corrections to restore phrases that had been incorrectly removed in redline edits and to avoid unintended blanks in the code text.
