Summary
Committee members reported 21 vendors signed, postcard artwork complete and 1,200 postcards queued for mailing as they finalize logistics and entertainment for the March 11 senior fair at The Elks.
The Senior Resident Advisory Committee on Feb. 9 reported steady progress toward a March 11 senior fair at The Elks, with outreach and logistics moving ahead.
A committee member said, “We have 21 vendors signed up currently and counting,” and confirmed postcard artwork is finished. “This will be going out… these will be dropped off tomorrow and going out to Ward 3,” the member added, describing a multi-channel campaign that includes email, postcards and social-media posts.
Organizers mapped the event layout and confirmed entertainment; one member noted a guitarist will perform on stage. The group also discussed refreshment plans: donuts and a cake had been secured but coffee was still pending.
On outreach, a member reported 1,200 postcards will be mailed and that staff were using a budget to prioritize targeted mailing to increase attendance from more distant neighborhoods. Volunteers will post flyers at workplaces and community boards, including the Elk Lodge.
The committee asked members to continue distributing materials and confirmed additional flyers can be produced on request. The fair is scheduled March 11 at The Elks, on Tom Ginevra across from the high school. The committee will continue preparations and return with updates at future meetings.
