Committee hears T‑Mobile lease update and Jackson County collections delay

Brianna Berchter, director of finance, reported she and staff met with Jackson County representatives about collections and property tax credits. Berchter said the county is not resuming a joint collections and assessment agreement at this time, is preparing a bid for a new payment platform, and that city staff expect more time will be required before collections resume at the city level. She said the county had provided two unofficial spreadsheets and the city is awaiting formal assessed-value updates and will share estimated numbers via email when available.
No formal decisions or votes were taken on either matter during the committee meeting; the T‑Mobile lease was described as coming to the council for first reading and the collections matter remains under intergovernmental discussion.
