Sen. Maria Collett outlines constituent services, details senior expo for Montgomery Township residents

Collett, who represents the 12th District, said her office offers constituent services ranging from help obtaining a Real ID and replacement license tags to navigating PennDOT road responsibilities and applying for state benefit programs. “We have people that reach out about real ID…birth certificate because now I need it for the Real ID process,” she said, adding that staff also help with unemployment compensation, Medicaid and SNAP questions and consumer complaints.
The senator described ways the office meets seniors where they are: “We host office hours at 15 different senior communities each month,” Collett said. She detailed the annual senior expo the office organizes each May at the Montgomery Township Community and Recreation Center, saying, “We have over 60 vendors that come and they offer a variety of services, mental and physical health services, recreational opportunities.” The event also regularly includes a vaccine clinic and tables from state and federal legislative offices.
Collett also noted smaller services the office provides at no cost to constituents, including notary services and help locating unclaimed property held by the Pennsylvania Treasury. She encouraged residents to call when other avenues have been exhausted: “So often when people reach out to our office, they’re really frustrated and tired…They’ve done everything that they know to do,” she said.
