Board approves police vehicle replacements and several IT and building upgrades

Montgomery Township’s Board of Supervisors on Jan. 26 approved several capital purchases and equipment contracts covering public safety, information technology and building access.
Police Chief Peoples presented quotes to replace two patrol units with 2026 Ford Police Interceptor utility hybrid models and to outfit the vehicles. The vehicle quotes (Fred Beans Ford Lincoln) total $93,344; equipment and installation (Havas Inc.) total $47,963.50. Staff reported the combined vehicle and equipment cost was about $141,000, a small variance above the budgeted amount in the final 2026 budget. The board approved two separate motions to award the vehicle purchase and the equipment/installation contracts; both motions carried.
IT Director Rich Greer briefed the board on multiple IT and facility projects. He said the police department’s Windows server reached end of life and presented a Dell PowerEdge R760 quote for $48,420.63, which exceeds the $30,000 budgeted allocation; staff recommended proceeding to avoid higher future costs. The board voted to award the server purchase.
Greer also presented and the board approved: a $24,184 CM3 Building Solutions quote to upgrade the administration-wing access-control system, $37,113.22 to replace main and staff entrance doors (Advanced Door Services) and a $14,236.05 Omega Systems quote to replace recreation-center network switches. Board members noted environmental approval for hybrid vehicle selection and praised staff coordination for enabling the virtual meeting.
