North Penn YMCA cleared to use Fisher's Park again for 2025 summer camp

Bob Varga, executive director for the Lansdale branch of the North Penn YMCA, asked the board to allow the YMCA to use Fisher's Park for its 2025 summer day camp. Varga said the 2024 camp ran from June 17 to Aug. 23 with roughly 28 children per week from kindergarten through eighth grade, used the pavilion and fields, and included swimming twice weekly and three field trips.
Supervisors asked whether parents or staff had traffic or program complaints; Varga said he received essentially no complaints aside from one comment about heat. A supervisor asked whether rotating municipalities for camp location had been considered; the YMCA said not this year. The board approved the request and directed the solicitor to prepare a use agreement similar to last year’s arrangement.
The motion passed unanimously.
