Resident urges action after dark corner; board cites inspections and budget limits

John Dolce, a resident who lives at the Keeler Road/Susan Drive intersection, told the Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors that a streetlight is installed on the wrong pole and leaves the walking path and his corner in darkness.
"Someone's gonna get killed there," Dolce said, asking the board to move the light to the correct pole or add a painted crosswalk. He said the corner was notably dark during Halloween when children crossed the street.
Public works and board members responded that crews had relocated the light arm toward the center of the street, that inspectors had visited the location and observed lighting, and that the township has limited funds and must avoid setting a precedent that would require installing lights at many private‑request locations. A board member said they would drive by the corner and follow up, but cautioned that additional work may take time.
The public‑comment exchange concluded without the board approving new lighting spending or a crosswalk; staff did not present a formal agenda item or budget request for immediate further action during the Jan. 22 meeting.
