Ferguson Board Adopts Several Proclamations and Honors Long‑Serving Zoning Official

Ferguson Township’s Board of Supervisors used the May 6 meeting to adopt several ceremonial proclamations and to recognize longtime zoning administrator Jeffrey (Jeff) Ressler on his retirement.
The board unanimously adopted a proclamation recognizing May 2025 as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Nalani Krishnamurti, State College Borough council member and local APIDA community organizer, thanked the board and highlighted examples of Asian and Pacific Islander leadership and contributions.
The board also recognized Mount Nittany Health Week (May 11–17) and National Hospital Week, with Mount Nittany Health human resources director Drew Grungard outlining workforce size and upcoming projects including a new ten‑story tower. Supervisors recorded one abstention on the Mount Nittany Health Week proclamation but adopted the measure.
The board adopted a proclamation for Emergency Medical Services Week and thanked EMS providers for volunteer and career service.
In a personnel recognition, the board presented Jeffrey Ressler with a plaque and certificate commemorating 31 years as the township’s zoning administrator. Colleagues and staff praised his long service; Ressler reflected on starting in 1993 and called his tenure a privilege.
Outcome: All proclamations were adopted and the township formally recognized Ressler’s retirement.
