Council recognizes youth hero and swears in new city staff

At its Feb. 19 meeting the Brigham City Council paused to honor a local youth and to swear in several newly hired or promoted city employees.
Representatives of the American Legion Auxiliary presented a national 'youth hero/good deed' award to Tate for a volunteer drive called "Tate Stand," which distributed hygiene items, coats and blankets during a government shutdown and continued through the winter with deliveries across neighboring communities.
The council also administered oaths to new and promoted staff: firefighters Aspen Stevens and Carson Maxfield (EMT certification referenced), recreation coordinator Hallie Ogden, and personnel moves within public works and finance including Tyler Puxley, Mike Waite, Bryce Lofthouse and Jeff Schmidt. Each of the new appointees briefly thanked the council for the opportunity.
