Planning commission adopts 2026 calendar; elects chair and vice chair

The Navajo County Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously adopted its 2026 Planning & Zoning calendar, spacing meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m., as presented during the commission’s Oct. 16 meeting.
A commissioner moved to accept the calendar as presented; the motion was seconded and carried. Commissioners then conducted separate votes for officers for 2026. A motion to elect Commissioner Mueller to continue as chair was made, seconded and approved. Vice Chair Smith was nominated for vice chair, accepted the nomination and was confirmed by the commission.
During commissioner comments and directions to staff, members exchanged holiday greetings, discussed district boundaries and representation, and staff (Cody) said there were no items currently scheduled for the January meeting, though several matters remain under review and require additional documentation before coming back to the commission.
The commission adjourned following the staff report.
