A county representative explained the intent of Operation Greenlight and urged the board to adopt the proclamation, noting local efforts to support veterans. "This is the fifth anniversary of a National Association of Counties project called Operation Greenlight. It's to honor and recognize the veterans, to make sure by lighting up government buildings green that we are sending a message to them that they are seen, appreciated, and supported," the speaker said. The presenter also outlined concerns about veteran suicide and substance use and described the county’s veterans court and intermediary support roles.
The chair asked if there were comments; the board then moved to adopt the proclamation (motion initiated at SEG 675). The motion passed on a voice vote with no recorded dissents. After adoption, county staff discussed a public lighting event at the Old Navajo County Courthouse and thanked buildings & grounds and communications staff for organizing and publicizing the event.
