Harris Township adopts 2026 budget, raises general millage to 6.9 mills

The budget had been tentatively adopted on Nov. 10 and was available for public inspection at the township office and online during the prior month. No members of the public testified on the budget at the Dec. 8 hearing. A motion to adopt Resolution 25‑17 (adopting the 2026 budget) was made and seconded and the resolution was approved by voice vote.
The board also approved related budgetary resolutions, including Resolution 25‑18 appropriating sums for COG programs and Resolution 25‑19 establishing property tax rates for 2026; these actions were approved by voice votes during the meeting.
