The Montgomery Glen Homeowners Association presented a $10,000 donation — $5,000 each to the township police and fire departments — that supervisors formally recognized during the meeting. Pat Carr, president of the association, and Dan Jenkins, a board member, attended to present the donation.
On procurement and capital projects, the board approved the following actions: - Awarded the 2025 lawn care treatment contract to Moyer Indoor Outdoor based on the only responsive quote of $20,813; the adopted budget had $50,000 allocated for the park contracted services fund. - Awarded the 2025 curb and curb ramp project to Donnelly Concrete LLC as the lowest responsible bidder at $486,600, per the township engineer's recommendation. - Approved purchase of a Ventrac boom mower attachment from Turf Equipment and Supply Company at $20,251.45 under the CoStars cooperative program, with $25,000 included in the capital plan. - Awarded tennis court improvements at Spring Valley Park to Topa Court LLC, the lowest responsible bidder at $261,160; the capital plan included $402,000 for the project.
The board also moved to waive permit fees totaling $149.50 for Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish’s annual summer festival, after staff said the township has waived fees for this event in past years.
Separately, staff presented a proposed amendment to chapter 230, article 21 (ordinance referenced as 25-348) to regulate EV charging stations and energy storage systems. Staff cited reports of increased lithium battery–related fires in New York City as part of the rationale for setback and permitting requirements; the board voted to authorize staff to advertise the ordinance and route it for review by Montgomery County Planning Commission, the township planning commission and then a public hearing before the board.
Board members said many of the capital projects are currently trending under budget; staff noted these awards were made following engineer bid reviews and existing budget allocations.
The board adjourned after completing the evening's agenda.
