Presenters said the last full purchase occurred around 2015, that online components are not being actively used, and that teachers found the hard-copy materials adequate for current instructional needs.
One speaker noted the district will purchase supplemental novels for high school through a recently awarded state literacy grant to bring more current titles into classrooms. "We do have the ability to purchase some new supplemental materials, which will be novels for the high school," an unnamed presenter said during the discussion.
A motion to approve the independent adoption as presented was moved and seconded by board members and carried by voice vote.
