In the manager's report, staff also proposed scheduling a strategic planning work session (late June or early July) to review long-range goals and the township's finances. Staff noted a grant opportunity for public EV charging station installation that would cover equipment and electrical upgrades but require a 20% local match; staff will seek preliminary cost estimates before pursuing the September grant deadline.
Board members asked questions about charger service contracts, ongoing annual fees, and future-proofing equipment for evolving technology; staff said some vendors provide payment and service platforms and that usage-based fees would be charged to users.
The board asked staff to send scheduling options for the strategic planning session and to gather preliminary EV charger and service upgrade estimates before committing to a grant application.
