At the start of the Jan. 20 council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Holliday and staff presented certificates to Santa Stops volunteers and shared program metrics. Holliday credited long-term volunteers and sponsors and invited residents to sign up for the 2026 program at miridasantastops.org (as displayed during the presentation).
Program statistics announced by Holliday included 119 stops across seven nights, 8,833 total visitors, 213 baskets collected for local pantries and 107 volunteers who supported the effort. Staff explained volunteers who have not previously been live‑scanned must complete live‑scan background checks and that earlier completion is recommended.
Council and staff thanked volunteers and photographers gathered for group photos after the recognition.
