Staff replied that the proposal adds clarity and extends explicit language to cover to-and-from-school transportation by school employees without altering the existing in-school-day allowances.
During the vote to accept the proposal for publication and public comment, one board member abstained (Board member Shahada); the remainder voted in favor.
What happens next: As a proposal-level action, the department will publish the rule changes for public comment before any final adoption.
