Milpitas — The City Council adopted a resolution appointing Christian M. Curtis as the city’s new city attorney and authorized the mayor to execute an employment agreement.
Acting City Manager Jared Hernandez told the council the city conducted an extensive search and interviews for the position. Acting City Attorney Christopher Creech summarized compliance requirements under the government code and said the stated salary in the contract is $340,000, with benefits as provided in the employment agreement attached to the agenda.
A motion to adopt the resolution was made and seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve the appointment. No additional public comment changed the council’s action at the meeting.
The council authorized the acting city manager and/or designee to take any actions necessary to carry out the appointment and to execute the employment agreement on the city’s behalf.
