Hubbard County approves short-term provider contract after Caring Hands closure

The Hubbard County Board approved a purchase-of-service human services contract with True Healthcare on Feb. 17 after staff said Caring Hands unexpectedly closed earlier this year.
Staff explained that True Healthcare agreed to take on the county’s clients so there would be no interruption of services and that rates and funding sources would not change: services for clients without medical assistance would continue to be billed to the county’s grant, while clients with medical assistance would be billed under MA.
A commissioner moved to approve the contract; the motion was seconded and the board approved it by voice vote. Commissioners asked whether rates had changed; staff replied there was no rate change.
The contract is a purchase-of-service arrangement, and staff said the county coordinated quickly with available providers to prevent service disruptions following Caring Hands’ closure.
