Hibbing council approves multiple equipment and IT purchases for city operations

Deputy Administrator/City Clerk Miss Seppler presented a state-bid quote from Insight to purchase eight APC Smart UPS units, two racks and two tower enclosures for $9,530.50 to support server backup and continuity; council approved the purchase by voice vote.
City Engineer Jesse Storey requested approval to purchase a Wacker Neuson SP 31 tracked skid steer for cemetery work from L & L Rental under the state bid for $71,975, funded from 2024 operating-savings in Public Works; the council approved the purchase. Storey said the current public-works skid steer is too large for cemetery tasks and the dealer has the unit in stock.
Storey also requested approval to order a walk-and-roll packer for graders from RMS for $42,640 (to be placed on a leased grader for next year); council approved that purchase as well.
