Principal Steven Slater introduced a student team from Matthew Turner Elementary who described STEAM Week activities and Family STEAM Night. Students and staff detailed hands-on projects — straw rockets, RC cars, Oobleck and slime, 3-D printing and tinkering stations — and credited volunteers from Benicia High, Cal Maritime, and community organizations for supporting the program.
Student presenters named Zane Paz, Kareem Mohammed, Logan Ponder, Avani Sahota and Juliet Letourneau explained that STEAM helps students think critically and connect math, science and art to real-world problem solving. The board thanked the students and principal for the presentation.
