The Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors adopted a set of ceremonial resolutions at its May meeting, proclaiming May 2025 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and recognizing National Police Week (May 11–17), National Public Works Week (May 18–24) and National EMS Week (May 18–24).
Annette (speaker 7) read the AAPI Heritage Month resolution, noting the national observance s established in 1978 and expanded by Congress in 1992. The AAPI resolution text in the packet cites historical milestones and affirms the township s committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. "A resolution of the Board of Supervisors of Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania to recognize Asian Pacific American Heritage Month," the read text begins.
Carolyn McCreery presented the resolutions for Police Week, Public Works Week and EMS Week, describing their history and the township packet language; the board moved, seconded and approved each resolution by voice vote. During the Police Week reading the packet commemorated Montgomery Township police officer David Hancock, who died Dec. 11, 1976.
