Public Works committee forwards traffic-calming contract and multiple engineering agreements to full council

The Lee's Summit Public Works Committee on Jan. 12 reviewed and forwarded several infrastructure contracts and amendments to the full City Council, and received a presentation on the draft FY2027 Capital Improvement Plan.
John Persing, a staff engineer with Public Works, presented an ordinance to award bid No. 889 for a traffic‑calming project on Northwest Lake Drive that includes a raised crosswalk and two speed humps. Persing said the project followed petitions and field studies from traffic engineers; Vice Chair Rader, whose district includes the project area, said residents "are going to be very happy" after a long wait. The committee moved and voted to forward the ordinance, and the clerk recorded unanimous committee support.
