Regional partners report capacity pressures and capital work; foundation gala nets $23,779

John Keller, representing BCTC, said the joint technical center has a wait list of about 300 students across the combined districts and is pursuing capital projects to expand capacity (roofs, air handlers and classroom reconfiguration). Keller said BCTC will vote on a preliminary budget at its Feb. 25 meeting that will return to local boards this spring for approval.
Foundation leadership reported that 143 people attended the November gala, 32 of them teachers; sponsorships totaled $12,455 and net gala proceeds were $23,779. The foundation plans further reporting after its next meeting.
PCIU updates noted construction underway at the main building, moves from the Ed Center and renovations intended to return students to the renovated space; the board was told to expect updates after the upcoming committee meeting.
Board members asked clarifying questions about how many Twin Valley students are on wait lists for CTC programs and whether guidance staff could assist with placements; presenters said updated acceptance lists and grant information would be available shortly.
