Lockport Township High School Board recognizes Eagle Scouts and state‑series athletes

The Board of Education for Lockport Township High School District 205 opened its regular meeting in the East Campus cafeteria with a series of recognitions for student achievement.
Superintendent Bob McBride welcomed attendees and said the district wanted "to take pause and celebrate" students and the adults who supported them. East Campus principal Dr. Jacqueline Johnson then read resolutions honoring seniors who earned the rank of Eagle Scout: Dennis Lee, who led construction of a sensory garden; Owen Cuchero, who created a community butterfly garden; and Caleb Lentz, who coordinated installation of AED kits and led first‑aid training at a local church. Each resolution noted the students brought "honor and distinction" to themselves, their families and the school community and recorded the recognitions as adopted in December 2024.
Dr. Johnson also recognized senior Haley Johnson for earning all‑state honors in the 100‑yard butterfly and named the 2024 girls volleyball team for placing third in the IHSA Class 4A state tournament, acknowledging head coach Nick Maras and assistant coach Ken Daniels. "Congratulations, ladies," Dr. Johnson said as the board adopted the related resolution.
Board members and staff thanked coaches, sponsors and parents for supporting student activities. The recognitions were followed by a short recess and the meeting resumed with board salutes and routine business.
The recognitions required no formal action beyond adoption of the resolutions on the consent or recognition portion of the agenda; the board then proceeded to its regular agenda items.
