Summary
The North Penn School Board approved consent agenda items, personnel and financial reports, a $75,000 grant acceptance for North Montco TCC, bid awards for SNS equipment ($112,925.67), and a resolution to apply for up to $5,000,000 in state facility-improvement funds for roofs.
The North Penn School District Board approved multiple routine and project-related items during its action meeting.
On voice votes the board approved the consent agenda (contracts, student travel, gifts, student agreements, bid advertising, the MCIU budget, extended childcare rates, selection of an insurance broker, tax-lien matters and assessment-appeal items), personnel recommendations, and the treasurer's report. The board ratified January disbursements totaling $32,224,002.40 and approved January budgetary transfers for 2026.
The board accepted a $75,000 Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency grant to support installation of an electronic door badge access system at the North Montco Technical Career Center. Administrators also reported student-installed EV charging stations and said first-place SkillsUSA winners will advance to state competition in Hershey in April.
On procurement, the board approved SNS equipment awards to Douglas Equipment ($2,499.22) and Singer Equipment ($110,426.45) for a combined total of $112,925.67 from the SNS enterprise fund; officials said the fund balance is designated for food-service equipment replacements. Facilities staff presented two change orders totaling $9,302; presenters said the change orders do not increase the vendor contract amounts or the overall construction budget.
The board passed a resolution to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Public Schools Facility Improvement Program for roof projects, requesting up to $5,000,000. Administrators said the list of roof projects was developed with Tremco Roofing from the district's capital list and that targeted roofs are near or out of warranty.
No opposed votes were recorded on the motions called during the meeting; votes were taken by voice and the minutes record motions as "Motion carries."
