BoardBook demonstration highlights 'follow leader' and policy-linking features for Silver Consolidated Schools

During a pre-meeting work session on Feb. 18, representatives from BoardBook demonstrated features intended to streamline board workflow and reduce manual navigation during meetings.
Gary Miller (BoardBook) demonstrated a 'follow leader' mode that lets a designated meeting leader (for example, the superintendent or the board president) advance the agenda and automatically push attachments and agenda item changes to followers’ devices. He said private agenda notes for individual board members would remain visible only to the author and would not create publication or quorum issues. ‘‘When Lisa, the superintendent opens up an attachment, the attachment will open up on all of the devices that are accessed to the meeting or logged into the meeting,’’ Miller said.
The presenter also reviewed permission controls and user management, explaining how administrators can assign a single meeting leader and how to deactivate former users. Board members asked whether the board president could be set as the meeting leader and how policies could be linked; the vendor showed the 'manage links' feature and explained that uploading policies into the application and attaching them to specific agenda items allows direct access from the agenda during meetings.
Board members agreed to trial additional functionalities and to follow up with questions; the presenter offered direct support and said BoardBook’s support team is responsive.
No formal adoption or procurement action was taken at the meeting; board members said they would test features over the next months and contact staff with follow-up requests.
