North Augusta council votes unanimously to enter executive session over Riverside Village

The North Augusta City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 23 to enter an executive session to discuss negotiations and to receive legal advice related to Riverside Village, the council chair announced.

At the request of the city attorney, the chair read the reasons for closing the session into the record: negotiations and proposed contractual arrangements; proposed sale or purchase of property; receipt of legal advice where that advice relates to a pending, threatened or potential claim; settlement of legal claims; and other adversary situations involving assertions against the agency. "This discussion specifically relate to Riverside Village," the chair said.

After the reading, the chair asked for a motion to go into executive session. "So moved," said Mister Buck, and Miss Carpenter seconded the motion. The chair called for a vote and stated the motion was unanimous. The chair then said the council would not return to the public session and adjourned the short meeting.
