Board approves $30,000 ResMed amendment and continues funding for after-hours wellness center

Behavioral Health staff told the board they needed a contract amendment to cover unexpected adult inpatient placements and to maintain the county—s after-hours wellness services.
Tiffany Armstrong (Behavioral Health) said the county—s contractor for adult inpatient psychiatric placements had exhausted available funds for April, May and June. The department requested a contract amendment to increase the agreement by $30,000 so invoices for those months could be paid; the state is the funding source for that amendment, Armstrong said. The board approved the amendment and authorized the County Administrative Officer to execute the agreement.
Armstrong also presented the county—s agreement with Speridigm (transcribed as "Speridigm Incorporated"/"Spare the Dime") for Judy's House, an after-hours drop-in wellness center that operates 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. She said Judy's House recorded 1,158 visits in FY24-25, representing 99 unique individuals and 51 identified clients who repeatedly used the service; staff framed the program as a way to reduce unnecessary emergency-room use. Supervisors praised the program and approved authorization for CAO execution of the agreement.
The board took both items by motion; motions carried.
