Police Commission hears budget and staffing updates, approves tuition reimbursement and invoices

The Commission approved a motion to reimburse college-course costs for Lieutenant Milligan as part of the department’s training and professional-development policy. Unidentified Speaker 2 moved to approve the reimbursement and the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
The Commission also approved invoices and employee reimbursements prepared by Jennifer Mardoff; no questions were raised before a voice vote.
On staffing the chief reported a January figure given in the transcript as "6.7%" (the transcript’s phrasing was ambiguous about whether this refers to vacancy rate or another measure), said Officer Rodriguez is expected to graduate mid‑March and enter field training, and asked commissioners to set interview dates for remaining candidates before March 6 so backgrounds and academy slots can be confirmed.
