Disability providers press DHS for COLA, DSP wage investments, and waitlist funding

Diane Hudson Rose and Libby Vincent highlighted more than 5,000 people on the waitlist, including thousands residing in nursing homes or institutions, and argued that rate stagnation directly reduces capacity to serve new individuals.
Advocates also asked DHS to examine incident investigations, increase transparency, and prioritize home-and-community-based services. Several provider groups stressed the need for capital funding to open new homes and additional supports for families aging out of caregiving roles.
DHS took testimony but made no immediate funding commitments at the session; speakers said they will submit written testimony with further details.
