El Paso trustees authorize contract negotiations with CBIZ for executive director search

And if contract negotiations are unsuccessful that the contract negotiations begin with the second highest rated firm as recommended by the ad hoc selection committee and that the board chair or executive director be authorized to sign related documents." A friendly amendment to allow the executive director or designee to make associated budget transfers was accepted and added to the motion.
The motion was seconded and, on roll call, the presiding officer recorded Aye votes and announced the motion carries. No dollar amount for the contract was specified in the motion as presented at the meeting; the board directed staff to negotiate terms and return any material changes for approval.
The authorization enables staff to begin formal contract talks with CBIZ and, if needed, the second-ranked firm from the ad hoc committee's evaluation.
