Washington County supervisors approve equipment purchases, courthouse change order, appointments and a resolution
Summary
The Washington County Board approved a series of routine items including a $33,534 contract for roll-off containers, a $131,249.11 courthouse change order, several appointments, a resolution enabling Green Springs VFD to resume first-response, an option extension for a land purchase, and a temporary funding arrangement for a sheriff's procurement.
The Washington County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved several routine and time-sensitive items at its meeting.
Procurement and capital projects: The board awarded an unsealed bid to Fleet Genius of NC Inc. for six 30-yard rectangular roll-off containers at $5,589 per unit, a total of $33,534. Ms. Alicia Sturgill of the solid waste department told the board only one responsive bid was received; the board approved the award and a budget transfer to cover the purchase.
The board also approved a $131,249.11 change order for the courthouse remodel to finish an overflow courtroom and related spaces. County staff said the work would be paid from existing contingencies and identified labor savings, and the board voted to authorize the change order.
