Resident urges county to repair Chip Ridge Road after crash and ongoing damage

Davenport, who gave his address as 13406 Chip Ridge Road, presented two sets of exhibits and said the narrow, deteriorating pavement has led to at least one vehicle being totaled and frequent heavy truck traffic that makes passing hazardous. He described standing water from a wet-weather spring and a blind intersection at Branch Street and Chip Ridge.
"We've already had a vehicle totaled, because the road is too narrow," Davenport said, asking the board to help. He said he had already contacted VDOT and requested the county's support to address drainage and culvert needs and to consider widening or other safety measures.
Board members listened and asked staff to accept Davenport's exhibits. The board did not take an immediate vote on capital work or commit county funds during the meeting; Davenport was advised to work with VDOT and county staff on next steps.
