County commission-adopted text amendments on cell towers, ADUs, manufactured homes and shipping containers to be published

Planning staff told the Reno County Planning Advisory Board that the county commission adopted recent zoning text amendments without changes and that the revisions will be published in the newspaper and become effective the next day.
Planning staff informed the Reno County Planning Advisory Board that several text amendments the board had recommended — covering cell towers, manufactured homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and shipping containers — were adopted by the county commission with no changes and are scheduled to be published in the local newspaper the following day.
"Those were approved by the county commission last week," planning staff said. "They will be published in the paper tomorrow. So, those regulations will be effective tomorrow officially." The staff report said the commission made no changes to the board’s recommendations.
Board members took the adoption as final and moved to shift attention to new topics, including clarifying parking and loading requirements, reviewing subdivision Article 4 to remove conflicts with Article 13, and evaluating the county’s approach to private roads, lot splits and short plats. Planning staff said they will update their internal work list and begin drafting the next set of amendments.
The board did not itself adopt the text amendments at this meeting — the commission’s action is the legal adoption; staff said the publication will mark the effective date.
