Senate sets PSC election date, recognizes visiting groups and adopts ceremonial resolutions

By unanimous consent the Senate adopted resolution S 9 21 to set March 4 as the date to elect members of the Public Service Commission for offices 1, 3, 5 and 7. Senator Rankin moved and the chamber approved immediate consideration and adoption.
The Senate also recognized a number of visiting groups: Lee County School District teachers, Goodwill Industries leadership for "Goodwill Day at the Dome," the Palmetto Land Title Association, and Independent Bankers of South Carolina. Several short, ceremonial resolutions (including Senate Bills 873 and 874) were recalled from committee and adopted by unanimous consent.
What happens next: The PSC election date is set by the adopted resolution; ceremonial recognitions were accepted by the visiting delegations.
