County staff presented Project Concern's January nutrition report; congregate meals totaled 490 and home‑delivered meals totaled 3,050 across sites. The board filed the report with no objection.
Procurement and finance actions included approval of four lease‑purchase payment purchase orders charged to the county general fund: a 2002 Ford F150 and pintle hitch trailer (payment $15,608.25; remaining balance $45,025.98); a 2024 motor grader and a 2023 track loader (payment $26,468.67; remaining balance $232,705.32); a 2024 T880 dump truck (payment $20,587.89; remaining balance $164,194.40); and a 2018 T880 dump truck (payment $24,861.86; remaining balance $116,859.55). Each purchase order was moved, seconded and approved by the commission.
Clerk staff also noted a correction and confirmed the county's 2026 appropriation to the Atchison County Health Department totals $80,000; the board approved the department's first request for an installment payment of $10,000.
Before recessing into an early workshop to discuss Bridge 29.8‑C.5 with the Funk family, the board recorded routine votes and adjourned the regular session for the workshop.
