Eighth-grade students presented a community project aimed at improving children's reading skills; they described plans to build a mini library and to host a community showcase on May 12.
Board members and the student board representative praised the students’ work. Trustees said the presentations illustrated soft skills—agency, advocacy and resiliency—that complement academic performance.
The spotlight concluded with a photo opportunity and a short recess. Staff invited community members and board members to attend upcoming showcases and noted opportunities to expand successful programs.
